Estadio Jorge Calero Suárez

The old name gives the place away before the new one does. For half a century this ground in Metapán was known simply as Los Sauces, after the willow trees that grew thick around it, and locals still slip back into the habit of calling it that.

The switch came in the mid-1990s, when a municipal councillor pushed through a rebuild and a rename, and by 1996 the ground had a new identity: Jorge Calero Suárez, honouring the goalkeeper who kept for El Salvador through the 1970s and earned the nickname "El Calero." The willows went; the name he left behind stuck.

Isidro Metapán have made it their own over the years, and CONCACAF Champions League football has passed through — Metapán's 2–1 win over UNAM in March 2012 drew just over four thousand people, a modest crowd but not an unusual one for a ground this size.

The most recent rebuild, completed around 2015, brought the pitch up to CONCACAF's dimensions, which meant tearing down the north stand to make room. It is the kind of trade a smaller club ground makes when it wants to keep playing continental football rather than watch it from outside.
