Estadio José Alberto Valle

The ground carries the name of the man who ran the club through its formative years: José Alberto Valle served as president of Club Atlético Kimberley from 1973 to 1982, and the stadium opened under that presidency in 1978. It sits in what locals call Barrio Talleres, at the corner of Avenida Polonia and Vértiz.

Kimberley itself goes by Dragón in the local press. There is no record of an earlier name attached to the site — Valle's is the only one it has carried. Some databases list the president's name wrongly as José Antonio Valle, but it refers to the same man and the same stadium.

Work on the club's Alvarado-street frontage, including a terrace and a gymnasium, was finished in 1985, though that belongs to the social side of the institution rather than the pitch itself. The playing surface has stayed natural grass throughout.

Mar del Plata is not short of football grounds, but this one is scaled to a club rather than a city project: 2,000 seats. It functions as Kimberley's own space, named for the man who kept the club running long enough to build it.
