Estádio José Antônio Abílio de Lima

Quixadá is a town shaped by granite outcrops in the interior of Ceará, and its stadium sits inside that same rocky landscape without much fuss made about it. The Estádio José Antônio Abílio de Lima belongs to the municipality and gives the town's club, Quixadá Futebol Clube, known locally as Abilhão, the only proper pitch to call home.

The ground opened on 27 October 1965, which puts it among the older municipal stadiums scattered through Ceará's backlands, built in an era when small towns raised these grounds as much for civic pride as for football. Six decades on, the natural grass pitch, measuring 105 by 68 metres, still carries the matches on matchday.

There is no rebuild story here, no tournament that reshaped the place, nothing beyond a town holding on to the one pitch it has always had.
