Estadio José María Minella sits on the edge of the Peralta Ramos Oeste neighbourhood, where the city meets the railway lines.

The stadium was raised specifically for the 1978 FIFA World Cup, replacing a hippodrome that no longer exists. The ground was renamed shortly after the tournament to honour a local footballer, though most people still call it Estadio Mundialista.

The pitch is natural grass, but visitors from the present day say the surface is patchy. The covered grandstand, once home to 6,500 seats, was closed in September 2021 after officials found structural flaws. The capacity is now 35,180, down from the original 35,354.

Aldosivi call it home. The stadium has also hosted the 1993 Artemio Franchi Trophy final, the 2001 Rugby World Cup Sevens, and a series of concerts that ranged from Queen to Rod Stewart. The Municipality of General Pueyrredón granted a 30-year concession to a private firm in August 2025. The address is Avenida de las Olimpiadas 760.
