Estadio La Rosaleda
La Rosaleda opened its doors properly in September 1941 with a friendly against Sevilla, but the ground had already staged its first match months earlier, in the spring, when floodwater ruined the old pitch at Campo de los Baños del Carmen and the unfinished stadium was pressed into service ahead of schedule.
The 1982 World Cup remade it: two-tier stands, floodlights, a lowered pitch, and a capacity pushed out to 45,000, including the Soviet Union's 2-2 draw with Scotland, which still stands as the highest attendance the ground has recorded.
Ownership here is split three ways, between the city, the provincial council and the Andalusian regional government, with Málaga CF renting the ground under an arrangement dating back to 1954 rather than owning it outright.
