The name on the gate has changed twice in this stadium's history, and the latest change came only months ago. Through most of the 2020s it stood as Estadio Alfonso Lastras Ramírez, the name locals still reach for out of habit. In January 2026 a sponsorship deal with Libertad Financiera put a new name over the entrance, the kind of rebrand that Mexican top-flight venues have grown used to as clubs look for revenue beyond matchday tickets.

The ground opened in 2002 and has served ever since as home to football in San Luis Potosí, now carrying Atlético de San Luis through its Liga MX campaigns. The pitch is natural grass, laid out on Av. Malaquita in the Valle Dorado district, a fixed point for the club through the various commercial names attached to the building around it.

What stays constant is the address and the tenant; what moves is what's painted on the signage. For a stadium that opened at the start of the century, the rebrand is just the latest chapter in a ground that has spent more years under one name than the new one has yet earned.
