Estadio Marcelo Bielsa

The name over the gate at Parque de la Independencia has only been there since 2009, but the ground itself has stood in that same corner of Rosario since 1907, when the mayor of the day, Nicasio Vila, handed the club the land to build on. What went up first was wood — modest stands modelled on the English grounds of the era, since Newell's Old Boys traced its own roots to an English schoolmaster. That original structure opened in 1911, and the arena has been rebuilt around that same footprint ever since, growing from seven thousand seats to ten thousand by 1918, thirty thousand by 1930, and on past forty thousand through the decades that followed.

The 2009 renaming carried its own weight: Marcelo Bielsa had played and coached at the club before going on to manage Argentina and a string of European sides, and Rosario chose to put his name on the ground where his own career in the game started. The stadium currently holds 49,000, a figure reached through work completed between 2023 and 2025, and the north stand is still being expanded, with plans that would eventually push capacity past fifty thousand once every phase is finished.

The pitch itself runs on a hybrid surface, laid inside the bowl at Av. Int. Morcillo 2501, in the Parque de la Independencia district that has framed the ground for well over a century.
