Estadio Mario Camposeco

Quetzaltenango's stadium opened on 8 September 1950 as the Estadio Escolar, built from 1948 by the national physical education authority as part of a wider programme of modern training grounds, and its opening ceremony hosted the Primera Olimpiada Juvenil during the independence anniversary celebrations. The current name came a year later, in 1951, when it was renamed for Mario Camposeco, a Xelajú MC player killed in a plane crash. The club still carries his name in its own — CSD Xelajú Mario Camposeco — and the ground has been its home in Guatemala's top flight, the Liga Nacional, ever since.

The stadium has no official website; it is run by the municipality or by the club that rents it. That informality has occasionally worked against Xelajú in Concacaf competition, where the venue has at times lacked the accreditation needed for continental fixtures.

On the football side, the closest thing to a benchmark for its pull came in the 2018 Clausura final, when some 11,200 tickets were sold — within a few dozen seats of the ground's own listed capacity.
