Estadio Monumental José Fierro

The name honours José Fierro, a founding member of Club Atlético Tucumán who served as its president from 1908 to 1921. It opened on 21 May 1922 with room for 5,000 spectators, and the nickname that stuck — El Monumental — dates to 1938, when a journalist writing under the pen name "Mogreb" started calling it that.
Growth came in stages rather than one grand rebuild: capacity had reached 29,200 by the time a new platea and VIP boxes added 2,700 seats in July 2009. The bigger change followed Atlético Tucumán's first appearance in the Copa Libertadores in 2017, which forced the club to meet CONMEBOL's requirements. Between 2018 and 2019, under club president Mario Leito, builders Tensolite S.A. added two new stands along with fresh entrances, toilets and hospitality areas, a project costing at least 32 million pesos and taking the ground to its current 35,200.
River Plate and Boca Juniors both make the trip north from Buenos Aires to play here, and Atlético Tucumán beat River 2-0 at home in the competition in September 2025. The club marked the stadium's centenary on 21 May 2022 with former players and concerts. It has hosted occasional non-football events too, including a Teen Angels concert in November 2008. Not everything has gone smoothly: a fixture against Tigre was halted in April 2026 after crowd trouble, and police detained two Rosario Central fans following a confrontation with locals outside the ground.
