Salto built this ground twice, ten years apart from the intention to the delivery. Funding for new stands and upgraded infrastructure came through in 2011, but the work only reached completion on 8 August 2020, aimed squarely at bringing the venue up to the standard needed for Campeonato Paulista fixtures and, above all, for Copinha.

That youth tournament is the ground's real calling card. The Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior has sent its January fixtures here repeatedly, including matches in 2024 and 2025 involving clubs such as Ituano and Fortaleza — a stadium in a town of modest size hosting some of Brazilian football's most closely watched young talent.

Salto Futebol Clube treats it as home for the state championship's A3 division and for Copa Paulista fixtures, following earlier tenants Associação Atlética Saltense and Sfera Esporte Clube. The old name gave nothing away — it opened in 1982 simply as Estádio Municipal, and only on 1 May 1992 did it take the name Amadeu Mosca, marking the occasion with a derby against Guarani Saltense that drew around 7,000 people through the gates, well past what the stadium was rated to hold at the time.

The renovation has not settled every question. In March 2025, the Federação Paulista de Futebol blocked the stadium from hosting official matches, citing missing technical and sanitary documentation from the municipality. Salto FC responded by commissioning engineering assessments, hoping to clear the paperwork and get fixtures moving again. Beyond football, the venue has doubled as a stage for civic life, hosting the Prêmio Carlos Pouza de Teatro in July 2018.
