Estádio Municipal Bruno José Daniel

The ground in Vila Pires answers to Brunão. The first stones went up under the city hall, which still owns it, and the first crowd through the gates watched Palmeiras win 4–0 in a friendly. Palmeiras had been preceded a month earlier by a track and field meeting on the same site.

Bruno José Daniel, a councillor and mayor of Santo André who died the year the stadium opened, gave the stadium its name.

Its record crowd — 21,000 — came in September 1983, for Zé Maria's testimonial, when Santo André and Corinthians could not be separated at 0–0. Tubular stands went up again in 2004 and 2005 to admit Copa Libertadores crowds, then came down.

The reconstruction that shaped the current ground ran from 2013 to 2016 under mayor Carlos Grana, at R$ 30 million, adding grandstands and roofing. It followed an earlier attempt, begun in 2011, that demolished the historic marquise and left the place shut.

The artificial surface was laid over the turn of 2021 into 2022 for R$ 3.7 million — the first synthetic pitch in the ABC Paulista region. Between April and August 2020, the stadium held no football at all: it served as a field hospital for COVID-19 patients.
