Estádio Municipal Coronel Francisco Vieira

The Estádio Municipal Coronel Francisco Vieira carries the name of the man who gave up his own land so the town could have a proper football ground, a gesture formalised by municipal law in 1951, well before a single brick went up. Construction followed years later, and the ground was inaugurated on 24 October 1965.

Before Chico Vieira existed, Itapirense's footballers played on a much older patch of ground near what is now Juca Mulato park, a pitch that had hosted matches and school gym classes since the 1910s and 1920s. When the bulldozers eventually came for that old field to make way for housing, the town already had its replacement ready in Bairro Boa Vista, on Rua Duque de Caxias.

What holds here is continuity: a name kept from a 1951 decree, a pitch that replaced one even older, and a club that never had to look elsewhere.
