Stadium
Estádio Municipal de Braga
Braga, Portugal
Formerly: Estádio AXA
SC Braga opened the ground on 30 December 2003 against Celta Vigo, and for one stretch of its history it played under a different name altogether.
In the summer of 2007 AXA were closing in on a deal that put the insurer's name on the stands until the end of the 2013/14 season, reportedly worth around €4.5 million a year, and Estádio AXA only reverted to its municipal title once that contract ran out.
The pitch itself stayed on natural grass from the opening match until the summer of 2026, when the club switched to a hybrid surface, natural turf reinforced with synthetic fibres, with the resurfacing work aimed at finishing by 15 July.
