Estádio Municipal de Dili
In September 1999, the ground on Avenida Xavier do Amaral stopped being a football pitch. On 21 December 1999, with INTERFET troops stationed in the country, the "Tour of Duty – Concert for the Troops" took place, with Kylie Minogue and John Farnham on the bill.
Work begun in 2011 led to an inauguration in April 2012; a second project worth US$1.64 million started in 2016, ran on additional funding and finished in 2021, covering the grandstand and the lights. Further work followed in 2025 ahead of the CPLP Games. In 2022 the government granted land rights to the East Timor Football Federation, which now manages the site.
The ground also carries the older name Estádio Nacional de Díli , and the national side treats it as home. On 12 March 2015 it staged the country's first home match in FIFA World Cup qualification, and Timor-Leste beat Mongolia 4–1. Clubs of the Liga Futebol Timor-Leste — among them Assalam F.C., DIT FC and Aitana FC — play their fixtures on the same natural grass. Cristiano Ronaldo came here in 2005 and met President Xanana Gusmão.
