Stadium
Estadio Municipal de San Joaquín
Santiago, Chile
Formerly: Estadio Municipal Arturo Vidal
The name on the facade, once bold and new, was removed in a decision made by the Municipal Council, leaving the plain title of the local commune in its place.
What makes this ground different is not its history, but its setting. This is a community pitch, one that has seen the rise of Real San Joaquín from the lower divisions.
The capacity is small, barely 3,500 people, a number that has not changed since the doors opened in 2016. The stadium was originally named after Arturo Vidal, a local boy who went on to play for the national team, but that tribute was taken down, leaving the ground to stand on its own merits.
