Berazategui is a town on the Río de la Plata's edge, and its stadium carries the name not of a founder or a saint but of a Coca-Cola man who helped bankroll it — Norman Lee — a detail that says something about how the club got its ground built in the first place. The stands themselves came from somewhere else: they were moved over from San Lorenzo's old ground, the Viejo Gasómetro, and set down on land the club bought with the municipality's backing. The place opened in November 1981 with a 1-1 draw against Browns de Adrogué, holding 5,500 people.

That original stadium didn't last in its original form. By the end of 2012 the wooden terraces and running battles between rival barras forced a closure, and Berazategui spent years playing away from home, not returning until March 2016. The rebuild that followed changed the ground's shape gradually rather than all at once — the newest piece, the Tribuna Popular Norte, named for Cacho Chafala and José Francisco Mercado, only opened in February 2024, adding 4,500 seats and taking total capacity to 10,000.

The stadium sits on Avenida Juan Manuel Fangio, on a street that once carried a different name, Av. Los Paraísos — a small trace of the neighbourhood's past life. Today it hosts Asociación Deportiva Berazategui in Primera C, the fourth tier of Argentine football, and occasionally opens its gates for Copa Argentina fixtures, giving the town a stage bigger than its usual weekly audience. The rivalry with Cambaceres has produced its uglier moments too, including a brawl after one meeting between the sides — a reminder that the barras trouble of 2012 was never entirely confined to the past.
