The stadium in Palencia does not feel like a place that has existed for long, but it is not new either. It sits on the eastern edge of the city, out near the industrial zone. Estadio Nuevo La Balastera replaced the old ground, which had been standing since 1943 and was torn down between 2006 and 2008. The new build opened on October 10, 2006.

What stands out first is the way the stands run. The capacity is 8,100, all seated. The natural grass surface has been replaced a few times since it opened, which is standard practice when the ground sees regular use.

The site used to host the old Estadio La Balastera, which had seen several clubs come and go before it was demolished. Now it is shared by Club Deportivo Palencia Cristo Atlético , who have been tenants since 2012, and CF Palencia , who were refounded in 2013. The official attendance record is 8,100, achieved during the inaugural match against Spain U-21.

The address is Calle Lola de la Fuente, s/n, 34004 Palencia. It is not a venue for international tournaments, but it has hosted the 2012 Copa del Rey de Rugby final, which drew nearly 7,500 people.
