Estádio Olímpico Colosso da Lagoa

The ground took its name from the lake beside it, Lagoa Vermelha, and has never traded that name for a sponsor's. It opened on 2 September 1970, on the fiftieth anniversary of the founding of Ypiranga Futebol Clube, the club that owns it and still plays there. Ypiranga had outgrown the Estádio da Montanha; the replacement was paid for by selling patrimonial titles to members.

The opening ran as a festival, with Santos, Grêmio, Internacional, Botafogo, Cruzeiro and Independiente all sending sides. The first official match, Grêmio 0–2 Santos, is the one Erechim keeps: Pelé scored his 1,040th career goal that day, and Rádio Tupi marked it with a plaque.

The crowd record came four years later, on 18 August 1974, when 25,000 watched Ypiranga lose 0–2 to Internacional in the Campeonato Gaúcho. The original capacity of 30,000 came down to 22,000 as the ground was brought into line with modern standards and fitted with white seats taken from the Beira-Rio.

Grêmio and Internacional have returned since to play Grenrais here, away from Porto Alegre — a goalless draw in 1992, then three Internacional wins, in 2009, 2010 and 2013.

The surface is natural grass, 105 by 68 metres, maintained in 2025 in partnership with the Federação Gaúcha de Futebol. In August 2024 the club looked at replacing it with synthetic turf, at an estimated R$ 2 million, with an eye on promotion to Série B. The grass stayed.
