Estadio Pensativo

Antigua Guatemala has a stadium called Estadio Pensativo, which also carries the town's official title, Estadio Municipal de la Antigua.

The stadium opened in 1959, standing since then on Calle Ancha de los Herreros. It has hosted Comunicaciones, Xelajú MC and Deportivo Malacateco as visiting tenants over the years, and the Guatemalan national team has used it for occasional fixtures — a rotation that makes Estadio Pensativo something closer to a shared civic asset than a single team's fortress.

The pitch is natural grass, kept that way through six decades in a region better known for its coffee terraces than its sports infrastructure. Capacity sits at 10,000, modest by the standards of Central American football but enough to fill the bowl when a historic rival comes to town and the away end empties out early, unwilling to sit through what the home crowd already senses will be a long afternoon.
