Estadio Union Tarma
Tarma, Peru
The stands are painted blue , a sharp contrast against the grey retaining walls and the dry, brown slopes above.
The ground is not new. It was opened in 1980 , when the club first played in the top flight of Peruvian football. For decades it was a place of local pride until the club's recent return to Liga 1. In 2024, the stadium was completely rebuilt . A new roof was raised over the south stand, and towers for artificial lighting were set up to allow for night matches.
The capacity is small , holding just a few thousand spectators. In October 2025, thousands of supporters from Universitario traveled here and pushed through the East Tribune, forcing a stoppage that required police with tear gas. The pitch is cut up badly after such crowds, and the surface shows the wear of the Andean climate. A banner on the far wall still reads Estadio Unión Tarma , the name the club has kept through the demolition and reconstruction.
It is a stadium built for survival .
