Estadio Villa Alegre
The original Villa Alegre sat in the city's lower zone, hard by the Paraná, hosting football there since the 1960s. It closed after a match on 24 October 2008 and was pulled down in January 2010, ceded to the rising water behind the Yacyretá dam. A riverside promenade now covers the ground where it once stood.
Work began in 2016 and the new Estadio Villa Alegre opened on 4 November 2022. The old venue held 5,000; this one holds 16,000, laid out over natural grass.
Within days of opening it staged the 2022 Copa Paraguay final between Nacional and Sportivo Ameliano.
