Farugokh

The name is the first thing that tells you where you are. Фурудгох is Tajik for aerodrome.

The address is the second oddity. The stadium stands in Гафуров, but its tenants carry the name of the town down the road. Парвоз-Бободжон Гафуров — known in earlier years as Парвоз, and before that as Авиатор, all three names circling the same aviation theme — moved out of Чкаловск when the club relocated to Гафуров. Чкаловск itself was renamed Бустон in 2016. What did not move was the home ground: the club still plays at Фурудгох, so the fixture list and the map have never quite agreed.

It holds 5,000, and there is no recorded attendance high to measure the place against — nobody has written down the day it was fullest.

How old it is stays open. Four years attach themselves to the ground in the records — 1953, 1962, 1964, 1978 — without anything to say which one is the opening and which are rebuilds.

What is documented, then, is short: a name that points at an airfield, a tenant that kept the ground after leaving the town, and a capacity of five thousand.
