Fifth Third Bank Stadium
Kennesaw State's ground carries three names in thirteen years, and the changes track the money rather than the football. It opened as the KSU Soccer Stadium on 2 May 2010, was renamed Fifth Third Bank Stadium in a sponsorship deal that took effect on 14 February 2013, and became Walens Family Field at Fifth Third Stadium in October 2023 after the Walens family's gift — the field itself took their name in 2025 following a further $4 million donation.
The surface has moved almost as often as the name. It opened on a hybrid PlayMaster pitch, switched to artificial turf in 2019, had that turf refreshed in 2021, and has since returned to natural Bermuda grass. Few campus grounds in the state have cycled through that many playing surfaces inside fifteen years.
Owls football only arrived here in 2015, four seasons after the stadium opened for soccer, and Atlanta United 2 have used it as their MLS Next Pro home since 2019 — a tenant more accustomed to bigger houses than the 10,200 seats on offer at Kennesaw. Basketball's overflow crowds, including a first sellout past the old 3,800 capacity and a repeat of it against Georgia State on 2 December 2023, belong to the university's arena across campus rather than to this field, a distinction worth keeping straight given how often the two get filed under the same address.
