Floro stadion
Florø, Norway
Florø Stadion does not shout for attention. It sits quietly in Florø, Norway, looking much like any other community pitch in the Scandinavian north. What makes the ground worth noting is not its size, but what it holds inside. The surface is natural grass. In a country where synthetic turf has become the norm, the club has refused to lay plastic over the earth.
The mood inside the stands has shifted over time. The stadium witnessed a quiet revolution in October 2016. A crowd of 2,710 people gathered to watch Florø SK beat Nest-Sotra 2–0. The win meant promotion to the 1. divisjon, a milestone the town had waited for. That match remains the highest official attendance record at the venue.
While the football pitch remains unchanged, the area behind the stands has transformed. Recent work in 2025 opened an Aktivitetspark for the wider community. The new space features pickleball courts and outdoor gym equipment, blending with the synthetic grass play area. The stadium itself is owned by Kinn Municipality.
There are no grand names or historical markers here. It simply exists as the home for Florø SK and Florø TIF. The capacity is modest, listed at around 2,800, though the stands often hold fewer.
