Fotbalový areál Šternberk

There is no origin story here, no chronicle of expansion or reconstruction. Sources differ on the postal address, some pointing to Blahoslavova, most settling on Lidická; either way, it sits on the edge of a town whose name most visitors know for the castle, not the football.

The pitch is natural grass, and a second, artificial-turf field shares the grounds. There is no running track — this is a ground built for a game, not for spectacle. At 2,000 capacity, it has never needed to hold much more; FK Šternberk's history runs through regional and district leagues rather than national finals, and the arena has hosted none of the promotion play-offs or cup finals that put a ground on the wider map.

The closest the club came to stepping up was the 2022/23 season, finishing third in Divize E with the right to move into the Moravskoslezská fotbalová liga — a promotion FK Šternberk turned down. The reserve side, FK Šternberk B, plays its own fixtures on the same turf. Founded in 1945, the club spent much of the years before 2012 shuttling between sixth- and seventh-tier regional and district competitions, won the Olomouc regional league that year, and has settled since into the fourth-tier Divize E. No concerts, no festivals — whatever draws a crowd in Šternberk, it happens elsewhere, at the castle grounds or the Kulturní dům. This is a stadium that keeps to one job.
