Stadium
Franz-Kremer-Stadion
Cologne, Germany
Formerly: Amateurstadion
The Franz-Kremer-Stadion does not announce itself with fanfare.
Opened to the public in 1971 after five years of construction, it began life as the 'Amateurstadion' before being renamed for Franz Kremer, a figure who led the club through its early decades.
Today, the stadium serves as the home for 1. FC Köln Women and the reserve side. The visitors won, and the record for the venue was set.
There is a quiet separation between this pitch and the professional stage. While the main stadium nearby hosts the major events and concerts, the Franz-Kremer-Stadion deals with the heat of the league below.
