The story here starts with a founder writing a cheque. GEODIS Park exists because Nashville SC owner John Ingram pushed the project through, and the club shaped the building around itself rather than adapting to a stadium built for something else. That shows in the numbers: at 30,109 seats it stands as the largest soccer-specific stadium in the United States and Canada.
Populous designed the building with local firm HASTINGS Architecture, and Mortenson Messer built it.
The pitch is Latitude 36 Bermudagrass, grown and laid by Atlanta-based Precision Turf.
The stadium opened on 1 May 2022, and Nashville SC marked it with a match against Philadelphia Union.
