Gipedo Dimitris Chamatsos
Dali, Cyprus
Formerly: Gipedo Halkanoras, Chalkanoras Idaliou Stadium
The ground stands in Dali , a village on the edge of the capital, Nicosia . The name belongs to Dimitris Chamatsos , a player for Chalkanoras Idaliou who was killed in the inter-communal conflicts of 1963–64. A statue of him was unveiled in the village in 1985 by the artist Nikolas Pavlopoulos .
The stadium was built in 2000. The capacity sits at 2,000. Chalkanoras Idaliou , founded in 1948, call this their home, and the local side Omonia 29is Maiou also use the pitch. The surface is natural grass, 105 by 68 meters.
It has had other names, Gipedo Halkanoras or simply the Chalkanoras Idaliou Stadium , but the current title anchors it to the man. The club’s website is still launching.
