A 2018 rebuild replaced the old grass with a hybrid pitch, natural turf reinforced with synthetic fibre in a roughly seventy-thirty split, and the work went well beyond the blades themselves: a new drainage system went in underneath, along with automatic irrigation and undersoil heating. For a club of Slaven's size, that kind of investment in what is essentially invisible infrastructure says more about priorities than any cosmetic addition to the stands would have.

Capacity sits at 3,134, which keeps the place intimate by design rather than by neglect — this was never built to chase bigger crowds. Gradski stadion was its original, plainer name, before it took on Kušek Apaš's, and the switch reflects a small club's habit of naming its own ground after one of its own rather than after a sponsor or a geographic marker.
