Gradski Stadium

Podgorica's ground carries the old name locals still use, Stadion pod Goricom, from the hill it sits under, and the club that plays there, Budućnost, opened it in May 1945 with a friendly against Sutjeska, weeks after the war in Europe ended. It burned down in 1952 and had to be rebuilt from that loss rather than from a simple modernisation plan. A reconstruction between 2004 and 2006 gave the ground its current shape, and in 2014 the pitch itself was relaid, work that put it among the better playing surfaces in the region — a detail that matters more here than the stands around it, since the capacity has stayed modest throughout. There is no separate stadium website; anything official comes through the Montenegrin Football Association or the Budućnost club pages, which says something about how the ground functions less as a showcase venue and more as a working home pitch. The natural grass surface remains the constant across all the rebuilding.
