Grand Ledge Community Stadium

Grand Ledge Community Stadium sits on the campus of Grand Ledge High School. In October 2016 parents, teachers and other members of the community started raising the $750,000 needed for an artificial surface, because the school board could not cover it alone. The fundraising ran long enough that by 2021 the pitch was already known simply as the Grand Ledge Stadium Turf Field, the campaign itself having faded into the name.

The ground's sporting history runs through the Comets rather than any senior club: a Michigan state football championship in 2000, and a CAAC Blue conference title in 2015 that carried the team into the state semi-finals. Lansing City, playing in USL League Two, now uses the stadium as a home venue as well, giving it a second tenant beyond the school programme.

Address and capacity aside, the surface is the detail that defines the place — a turf field bought by the town itself rather than laid down by a developer.
