Gyeongju Football Park (3rd Field)
Gyeongju, South Korea
Field 3 sits inside a wider training complex on the edge of Hwangseong Park. While the other numbered fields at Gyeongju Football Park run on artificial surfaces, this one has kept natural grass since it opened, which is part of why the women's side Gyeongju KHNP WFC uses it as a permanent base for WK League fixtures.
The complex grew in stages rather than all at once, with the wider site only considered complete by 2008. Field 3 itself was not left untouched afterwards either; it went through a refit in the summer of 2018, well after the rest of the ground had settled into its current shape.
It is worth separating this pitch from two things it often gets folded into. The men's KHNP side, playing in the K3 League, does not use this complex at all — they are based at the separate Gyeongju Civic Stadium across town. And the Smart Air Dome that opened on the same grounds in 2023 is its own covered, artificial-turf facility, not an extension of Field 3. For a short spell in 2017, this pitch and its neighbour also hosted the local amateur K7 League, giving six clubs a run-out on the grass here.
With room for 650 spectators, it is not built for crowds, and the address itself needs a small note: satellite navigation and the official land registry point to two different plots a short walk apart, so anyone driving in is better off following the car park entrance rather than the registered lot number. The city of Gyeongju owns the ground; day-to-day running falls to the municipal facilities corporation.
