Hadjimukan Munaitpasov Stadium

Shymkent has had one large ground for football since 1969, and it has carried two names in that time. It opened as «50 лет Октября» , a name that fixed it to the calendar of the state that built it, and it was later renamed for Хаджимукан Мунайтпасов . That second name is not exclusive to Shymkent: Astana's central stadium, built in 1936, took the same name in 1986. Anyone searching for the Munaitpasov stadium therefore has to specify the city first — a rare problem for a ground of this size.

The arena stands at ул. Мадели Кожа, 1Б and holds 20,000 , which puts it among the larger bowls still in regular league use in Kazakhstan. It remains a grass pitch, not the artificial surface that has spread through much of the country's football on the argument of climate and maintenance costs.

It is the home ground of «Ордабасы» . In a league whose centre of gravity sits in the north, Shymkent is the southern fixture.
