HaMoshava

Petah Tikva runs two clubs through the same gates. Hapoel Petah Tikva and Maccabi Petah Tikva, rivals sharing one city and one league table, both call the HaMoshava their own, and on derby weekends the ground carries a fixture list most Israeli grounds never see twice in a season.

The site itself has history the new building doesn't advertise. Before the current stand went up, this was the old Maccabi Ground, in use from 1926 until construction cleared the way for what stands there now — an inauguration in December 2011 closing out a project that had broken ground four years earlier. Nothing from that older era survived into the rebuild; the name is the only thread back to it.

At 11,500 seats, all under cover in a single bowl, the HaMoshava sits well below the capacity of Israel's national stadiums, and documentation drawn up around the build floated additional north and south stands that would have pushed the number toward 20,000. That expansion has not happened, and the ground has operated at its original size since opening.

Smaller tenants have passed through as well — Kafr Qasim and Sektzia Nes Tziona both used the pitch before settling elsewhere, evidence of a venue built with more than two clubs in mind, even if it's the Hapoel–Maccabi split that now defines it.
