Harstad Stadion
Harstad, Norway
Formerly: Idrettsplassen, Fotballmyra
Harstad Stadion The stadium opened in 1926, donated by the local club to the municipality. It has a long history of hosting speed skating, including the Norwegian Speed Skating Championships in 1962. When the artificial turf was installed in 1977, that activity moved to Kanebogen stadion. The attendance record for a football match at the stadium is 4,000, a figure that stands in contrast to the current capacity of 1,500. That crowd watched the opening match of the new pitch between Harstad IL and Skeid.
The stands are simple, with about 700 seated places. The rest of the capacity is standing room. The stadium is owned by Harstad kommune, which acquired it when Harstad Idrettslag donated the facility. The club was founded in 1903.
In October 2013, the club attempted to rename the stadium "Biltrend Arena" for one match against Lyn. The municipality did not approve the name change, and the club retracted the proposal in its promotional materials. The pitch has been replaced several times since 1977, with a version installed in 2014 replaced again in 2025 due to wear. Medkila IL's women's football team and Grytøy IL also use the ground. The club has won the Northern Norwegian Cup nine times.
