Stadium
Hibernians Ground
Formerly: Hibernians Ground, Hibernians Football Ground
The ground sits in the Corradino area of Paola. It was the first football ground in Malta owned by a club, opening in November 1986.
The pitch is a POWERgrass hybrid system, green and even. The club renamed the venue Tony Bezzina Stadium in 2021, after the president who led them for 43 years. The capacity is a matter of debate; the operational number sits around 3,038, though the nominal figure has long been listed as 8,000.
Hibernians FC played their first European match here on July 23, 1996, losing 2-1 to Uralmash Yekaterinburg in the UEFA Intertoto Cup. The ground has also hosted the Malta national rugby union team and the women’s national football team, and it staged matches for the 2014 UEFA European Under-17 Championship.
