Holstebro Idrætspark
The ground answers to two names at once. Krøyer Park — Krøyerparken in local usage — is printed as readily as Holstebro Idrætspark , and neither has pushed the other out; both remain current.
The shape of the place is set by its terracing. Of the 8,000 places, 500 are covered seats. The remaining 7,500 or so are standing, which is what made the ground's largest afternoon possible: when Holstebro Boldklub met Herning Fremad in 1971, 6,700 people came through the turnstiles, and no attendance since has passed that mark.
The pitch is natural grass. The ground itself belongs to Holstebro Municipality and is run from Gråkjær Arena, which is why it sits inside a wider municipal sports complex rather than standing alone as a club's own property. That arrangement also explains who uses it: Holstebro Boldklub, formed in 1921, is the resident football side, but the venue has staged handball as well, hosting Team Tvis Holstebro and Holstebro Håndbold.
For a visitor arriving at Rolf Krakesvej, the practical consequence of all this is straightforward.
