Husebyhallen

Trondheim, Norway

Husebyhallen is a municipal sports hall located in the Saupstad neighborhood of Trondheim, Norway, adjacent to the Kolstad Arena. It sits at Blisterhaugvegen 14, a location also referenced as Saupstadringen 13 in some federation directories. The building was constructed between 1975 and 1976 under the direction of the architectural firm Arkiplan.

It was designed as a multi-purpose facility with a court dimension of 44.6 by 22 meters and a wooden parquet floor, a surface type confirmed by a Trondheim municipal document on physical activity. The hall has served as the home arena for the basketball club Nidaros Jets and the club Sørsia Basketballklubb, while Kolstad Håndball played there until they moved to their new venue in 2018. It does not host football matches in the modern era, though the Norwegian Football Cup Final was held here in 1916, 1924, and 1934. More recently, it hosted the 'Blokkrock' concert series from 2001 to 2018, featuring local artists.

The venue has hosted major international handball tournaments, including the Women's Handball European Championships in 1993 and 1999, and the Men's Handball European Championship in 2008. It is owned by Trondheim Municipality and managed by Trondheim Spektrum Eiendom AS. Unlike many modern arenas, it does not have a dedicated official website separate from the city's general sports facility listings. The hall remains a functional community space rather than a landmark stadium, with no dedicated spectator capacity figure widely published in the sources consulted.
