Hwacheon Stadium
Hwacheon is not really a football town first. Football arrived late, and by the back door: in 2015 the KSPO women's club moved north out of Jeonbuk and took up residence here as Hwacheon KSPO WFC. The arrangement has since been renewed, most recently through to 2029.
What that tenancy means in practice is a WK League ground with attendances that rarely test the 3,000 capacity — league-wide averages sat around 267 in 2023, and some Hwacheon fixtures have drawn under a hundred.
Beyond the football, the ground's best-known moment away from sport came in October 2018, when SBS Plus broadcast an episode of the music programme The Show live from the venue.
