Iloilo Sports Complex

Football is not what fills this ground. In February 2022 the complex in La Paz took in a crowd of more than 40,000 for a rally behind Vice President Leni Robredo and Senator Kiko Pangilinan, the largest political gathering Iloilo City had seen to that point. Nine and eleven years earlier the Dinagyang festival brought ASAP here, twice, on a similar scale. Set against those numbers, the football is a quieter business: the best-attended match of the 2022–23 Philippines Football League season was played on this pitch on 12 November 2022, when Kaya–Iloilo met United City in front of 1,899.

The pitch itself dates from a rehabilitation finished in December 2015, an ₱18 million job that laid Bermuda grass over the old surface. That work came before Kaya FC–Iloilo was named the province's official football club in 2018, and the ground now carries both the men's and women's sides, along with the home fixtures of the Iloilo Football Association.

What surrounds the stadium explains its use. The provincial government runs it through a dedicated sports office, and the site holds an Olympic-size swimming pool, a rubberised oval, volleyball, badminton, basketball and tennis courts. The indoor gymnasium sits 200 metres away from the main site — near enough to belong to the complex, far enough that getting between the two means a walk. The Iloilo United Royals have played basketball here, though Passi City Arena remains their usual home.
