Imam Khomeini Stadium
Arak's football ground carries the name of the man who defined the republic itself. It opened in 2007 on Kashani Street and has hosted whichever of the city's clubs needed a home — Shahrdari Arak and Sanaye Arak both played their fixtures here before Aluminium Arak took it over as tenant in November 2021.
There is no earlier name attached to the ground — it has stayed as built, a natural grass pitch holding 15,000. What gives it its identity locally is less the structure than the tenant: Aluminium Arak's presence has turned it into the fixed point for the city's football rather than a venue shared uneasily between rival sides, as happened before the club settled in.
Its place has occasionally been muddled in databases that confuse it with a similarly named stadium near Eslamshahr, but the balance of sources, from Wikipedia to Iranian news agency ISNA, fixes it firmly in Arak, in Markazi province — a detail that matters more for record-keeping than for anyone who has actually stood on Kashani Street watching a match there.
