Ion Comșa Stadium

Ion Comșa Stadium is home to AFC Dunărea. For most of its life the place answered to a plainer name, Stadionul Tineretului, the Youth Stadium, and kept it for half a century before the city renamed the ground in 2013 for Ion Comșa, a footballer and coach who came from Călărași himself.

The pitch dates to 1962. A rebuild in 2018 brought capacity up to 10,400, well past the older figure of 6,000 still quoted in some records — worth noting for anyone cross-checking older listings against the current ground.

It has not stayed strictly a football venue. In June 2024 the stadium hosted a concert by the band Alternosfera.

The playing surface remains natural grass, and the ground sits on Bulevardul Republicii.
