Isku Areena
Lahti, Finland
Formerly: Lahden jäähalli, Isku Areena
The ice hall in Lahti sits at the centre of a quiet sports district, a space that has kept its shape through decades of change.
It opened in 1973 as Lahden jäähalli, the Lahti Ice Hall, and the city kept calling it that until a sponsorship deal with the furniture firm Isku shifted the title to Isku Areena. The name changed again in September 2025 when the engineering company Wemasto took over the rights, and the hall became Wemasto Areena.
Pelicans, the city’s ice hockey side, plays their matches here in the Liiga. The arena also hosted the 2003 IIHF World Championship alongside Hämeenlinna. That tournament brought people in from elsewhere, but the hall’s purpose never shifted from hockey.
The city owns the building, and the ice is artificial, kept cold whatever the season outside.
