The consortium of 90 Architekci and GMT won the design competition in 2018; the ground opened on 21 March 2025, with the city hall of Ополе carrying the project as investor.
What separates it from the run of new Polish municipal grounds is the surface. The pitch is natural grass with undersoil heating, which is standard enough now. The margins are not: the side strips and the areas behind the goals are laid with artificial turf, a choice made so the ground keeps its finished look where studs and equipment would otherwise wear the grass bare.
The stadium replaces the name it carried for decades — Stadion Miejski w Opolu , also known as Stadion Opolski — and it belongs to «Одра Ополе». The address is ul. Leonarda Olejnika 1.
