Jernvallens Arena in Sandviken carries the weight of its own name. Meaning "The Iron Ground," it reflects the local steel industry. The original Gamla Jernvallen opened in 1938 and was considered one of Europe's most modern facilities at the time. It hosted two matches during the 1958 FIFA World Cup. The attendance record for the site stands at 20,288 spectators, set during a 1957 Allsvenskan match between Sandvikens IF and IFK Norrköping.

The current stadium features an artificial turf surface with heating, installed by Nordic Arena Service. While the capacity of the new venue is listed as 4,783, the figure of 7,000 often cited in databases likely refers to the old stadium or is an error. The original site was later taken over by Sandvikens AIK for bandy and converted into the indoor Göransson Arena in 2009. This complex history means the venue has hosted notable events such as concerts at the adjacent arena, including Britney Spears in 2018 and a Melodifestivalen semi-final in 2010. The stadium has not undergone sponsorship name changes and retains the name Jernvallen.
