The Jinan Olympic Sports Center Stadium carries a nickname that sums up its exterior: the West Willow. The ground itself has hosted both football and athletics since it opened in 2009.
Shandong Taishan have played here since 2013. The scale of the project is evident from the capacity figures, though those numbers differ between sources.
The stadium was designed by the architectural firm CCDI, with engineering provided by Arup. It opened in time for the 11th National Games of China, and the opening ceremony was held within its walls. The venue continues to host concerts as well as matches, and a major round of renovations took place between 2024 and 2025 to update the facilities.
