John Jenkins Stadium
Portsmouth, United Kingdom
Formerly: Moneyfields Sports Ground
The John Jenkins Stadium sits on land that was long associated with Portsmouth FC. The club used it as a training ground before the site changed hands. Moneyfields FC returned to the address in July 2024 after spending time groundsharing while redevelopment plans stalled. The ground opened on 6 July 2024, 637 days later than the original schedule. The delay left the club without a permanent base for years. The venue is named after John Jenkins, a D-Day veteran who died in December 2019 at the age of 100. He was a lifelong supporter of Portsmouth FC.
The stadium features two 3G artificial pitches. The main seating area holds 2,000 places. The previous Moneyfields Sports Ground, where the club played for decades, offered just 250 seats and 50 standing places on a single covered stand. The difference in scale is immediate. The site cost £5.2 million to build, funded through a mix of public and private grants.
Moneyfields FC set the competitive attendance record on 3 January 2026. They hosted AFC Portchester and drew 753 spectators. Portsmouth FC Women had planned to move to the venue permanently but withdrew their application in 2024 because the ground failed to meet grading requirements. Pompey in the Community uses the facility for youth programmes. The building stands quietly in Copnor, a suburb of Portsmouth. The ground is open to the public on matchdays.
