The ground carries a nickname.

It sits on land given to the town by José Maria de Campos Maia, a local businessman who had served as mayor, and it took his name when it opened. What has changed since is mostly beneath the surface. A pitch upgrade came in 2007, and a decade later the club put R$ 230,000 into drainage and irrigation. The visible change arrived in 2025, when a new facade in ACM panels went up.

The occasion the ground is measured against is the 2022 Campeonato Brasileiro Série C final against ABC, when 25,297 came through the gates.
