Kadir Has Stadium

Kayseri's metropolitan municipality handed over the land of the former Kayseri Atatürk Stadium in exchange for the new facility, and construction began in November 2006 on Osman Kavuncu Bulvarı, in the Selimiye neighbourhood of Melikgazi. Avek Group's construction arm, Gürtaş Yapı, put up the building to a design by Bahadır Kul Architects; the bill came to somewhere between 63 and 68 million Turkish Lira. It opened on 8 March 2009 with Kayserispor against Fenerbahçe.

The attendance record of 32,864 belongs to the 2013 Turkish Super Cup, Galatasaray against Fenerbahçe, played here on 11 August that year — the neutral-venue figure, all-seated, which is also the capacity the stadium carries for international matches.

Before the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup, for which it hosted Group B fixtures, the seating was reworked to meet a minimum c-value of 90, the VIP areas were extended and the media facilities updated. The Turkish Cup has twice given the ground something: Beşiktaş won the 2010–11 final here on penalties against İstanbul BB SK, and in 2022 Kayserispor knocked Trabzonspor out in a semi-final second leg. Turkey have played here too, beating Estonia 4–2 in 2010 and drawing 0–0 with Wales in the UEFA Nations League in 2024.

It is named after Kadir Has, the businessman and philanthropist. Sponsorship has since put another name above the gates, but the old one is what people say.
