Kaharudin Nasution Rumbai Stadium
Pekanbaru, Indonesia
Formerly: Rumbai Stadium
Construction of the ground began in 1960, though some sources place the opening in 1980. It stands as part of the Rumbai Sport Centre complex, a project initiated by the former Riau Governor H. Saleh Djasit SH. The specific architect remains undocumented in available records. A major renovation took place between 2010 and 2012 in preparation for the PON XVIII, the Indonesian National Games held in 2012. This work focused on drainage and the playing surface, which is natural grass, confirmed by Europlan-Online as 'Naturrasen' and by reports of grass removal during rehabilitation.
The venue sits on Jl. Yos Sudarso in the Rumbai district of Pekanbaru. It serves as the home ground for PSPS Pekanbaru. The official capacity is 25,000, with 200 VIP seats and the remainder split between the east-west and north-south stands. The stadium hosted the PON XVIII 2012 football final, where East Kalimantan played against North Sumatra. It also staged matches for the 2013 AFC U-22 Asian Cup qualification, including a game between Japan and Australia that drew over 5,000 spectators. The playing surface has been described as Zoysia matrella in news reports covering the rehabilitation works.
